CAIDEN'S SCIENCE PROJECT

Caiden had a science project due today. He had to make a model of the parts of the Earth. He was told to use Styrofoam or clay. I let him do ALL the project himself. I usually help, but this was a simple little project that he could do pretty much himself. He simply used crayons, toothpicks, and little stick labels. I think he did a great job!

And of course, sister Bailee had to do one too!!Great job, Caiden and Bailee!!

FAMILY

I was going through my old e-mails, and I found one that really spoke to me that my sister sent to me and I want to share it.
FAMILY
I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
"oh excuse me please" was my reply.
He said, Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you."
We were very polite, this stranger and I
We went on our way and we say goodbye.
But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.
Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.
When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
"move out of the way," I said with a frown.
He walked away, his little heart broken
I didn't realize how harshly I had spoken.
While I lay in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,
While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the family you love you seem to abuse
Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find flowers there by the door
Those flowers he brought for you
He picked then himself: pink, yellow, and blue
He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
You never saw the tears that filled his little eyes.
By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall
I quietly went and knelt my his bed,
"Wake up, little one," I said
"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"
He smiled, "I found'em out by the tree."
"I picked'em because they're pretty like you
I knew you'd like'em, especially the blue."
I said, "son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today,
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way."
He said, "Mom, that's okay,
I love you anyway."
I said, "Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."
FAMILY
Are we aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days.
But the family we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.
And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into our work than our family,
an unwise investment indeed,
don't you think?
So what's behind the story?
Do you know what the word FAMILY means??
FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER(I)(L)OVE(Y)OU
This really made me think, That sometimes we put all our might in other insignificant things, and we should really be putting our time into our family.
I am not a perfect parent, I never will be, But I must put all my trust in God and my family to ensure we lead a life with God by our side and that he leads our every thought and our every decision and that we are always there for each other. Without family, we have nothing. God blesses us with family, and in turn, we should be a blessing to God for allowing us to have a family. We should love as the Father loves us, and be the example that God wants us to be, this is what my children should learn from their mother and father. That God is the reason we are a family.

CAIDEN'S PROGRESS

Caiden's progress in his private piano lessons is great!! I am so proud of him. Each lesson he has is improving his skills in piano. I have been taking little videos of each lesson and I will look back months from now and see how much he has improved! He really loves to go to his lessons. He is already in the process of learning Christmas music. His teacher told me that he is very good and his speed of learning notes is great and she told me that she is very proud of him! I am so glad that he is excited about learning, for he was raised in a very musical family and I hope the love of music will continue as he gets older!

ULM HOMECOMING 2008

Caiden and Bailee got to attend the ULM Homecoming game and they also got to tailgate with Pappaw, Mimi, and their girl cousins, Jayden and Anna Beth. As always, they had so much fun!
Caiden got to go on the field before the game started and he told me that he was so excited about getting to go on the field. Caiden loves football and every chance he gets to go and watch a game, he cherishes.

Bailee loves to go to the tailgating part, and she usually doesn't stay for the game, but she wanted to stay, and she made it through the whole game!
Caiden also got a ULM cap and he was so glad about getting it! Thanks to my Bailee Grace for taking pictures and videos. She has really taken an interest in photography and she really enjoys taking pictures. I am so glad that she shares the love of photography with me and I hope to someday teach her more about it!
Thank you Pappaw and Mimi for letting Caiden and Bailee go, and letting them enjoy the time together with family!

THE PUMPKIN PATCH

The Pumpkin Patch

Every year the kids and I go the the Pumpkin Patch. We all have so much fun picking out our pumpkins. Caiden did not have his usual piano lesson this week, due to fall break, and since we were use to being out already, we decided to go then.

It was a very nice day to be out.

The kids and I took our time looking for pumpkins, we were just enjoying the weather and our time together!
We always get 4 little pumpkins for each member in our family. We each decorate our little pumpkin any way we wish. We also get one BIG pumpkin for our family.

Caiden had already decided on our big family pumpkin and was asking Bailee if she liked the one he picked out.
Bailee loves the little pumpkins the best!
Caiden loves to see how tall he is. He is forever measuring himself, especially with me, for you can see, he is as tall as his mommy!! WOW!

Bailee is not far behind!
I love roaming through ALL these beautiful pumpkins.
Caiden, Bailee, and I picked out our little pumpkins, and then we decided on our big one.
The little man helped us bring it to the front.
He put all our pumpkins in a little red wagon, BUT Bailee decided that she wanted to pull the wagon herself, and the man so kindly let her! We had so much fun at the Pumpkin Patch!

I decided to wait and carve our pumpkins on Wednesday after school. I didn't want to go too far off from our studying routine, and I knew that it would take a while to carve 5 pumpkins.
So, I gathered up a few Halloween decorations and set up our table for carving. I found a couple of cute decorations at the Dollar Store, and I found some really cute goblet cups from them to have for their after school snack.
They were so surprised to see that I had everything ready to go! They ate snack and we got started!
They first drew an outline of their faces.
I do not like my children handling any kind of knives, but I did let them somewhat carve the pumpkins. They made the incisions, but I was mainly the one to cut out the pieces.

It was my turn, and since Jerry is not here, I went ahead and carved his !

Now it was time for the Family Pumpkin.
We love working on this pumpkin together.
Bless Bailee Grace, she does not like the smell, so she told Caiden he could be the one to take off the top of the pumpkin! Caiden could not believe that there was soo much stuff inside!

He gladly helped take out the insides, sounds kinda gross, doesn't it??!!
I sat and worked a while on the carving, and I am not crafty at ALL, but I think I did a great job!
The finished product!!! We then took all pumpkins outside. I think we all did a great job!
Our Family Pumpkins.

After dark had approached, we all went outside to light our pumpkins. We will light them again Halloween, but there is so much excitement about getting to light them after carving them.
