OUR WEEKEND IN NEW ORLEANS: THE AUDUBON ZOO

We has so much fun this weekend! We often travel a lot, and we do a lot of activities, but most of all we all look forward to just being together. We could just sit all day in a hotel, and I would be happy, simply because we are together!

The kid and I left after school Friday, and headed to New Orleans. We had a great trip there and met Jerry in town about 7 pm. We ate at a place called Catfish Charlies. It was on the water and the view was great. We got to sit on the dock and watch the ducks swim by. After a good breakfast Saturday, we headed to The Audubon Zoo.
The weather was great, not too hot, just a little breeze, a great day to be at the zoo!
We spent a good 3 hours there and still did not finish the whole zoo!
We has such a great time there! It was certaintly different than our local zoo! After we left, we headed to a place called The Fox And Hound for a late lunch and to watch the LSU game on the big screen! After the game, we rested and then headed to the mall.
I was in desperate need of make-up, and I don't wear it often, but Jerry insisted on me getting some!
Bailee had I had so much fun! We both got little mini make-overs and it was great a great time to bond with her!
Jerry had to work Sunday, so we headed back Sunday morning.
We cherish every moment we have with Jerry. Even though it was just 2 days, we got to see him and thats what matters the most! Some may look at it as a long and exhausting trip, but we would do anything just to be together! Those 2 days make a difference and that makes it worth it!

This was unreal! It looks so fake, but he just sat there!

CAIDEN'S SCIENCE PROJECT

Caiden had a science project due today. He had to make a model of the parts of the Earth. He was told to use Styrofoam or clay. I let him do ALL the project himself. I usually help, but this was a simple little project that he could do pretty much himself. He simply used crayons, toothpicks, and little stick labels. I think he did a great job!

And of course, sister Bailee had to do one too!!Great job, Caiden and Bailee!!

FAMILY

I was going through my old e-mails, and I found one that really spoke to me that my sister sent to me and I want to share it.
FAMILY
I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
"oh excuse me please" was my reply.
He said, Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you."
We were very polite, this stranger and I
We went on our way and we say goodbye.
But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.
Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.
When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
"move out of the way," I said with a frown.
He walked away, his little heart broken
I didn't realize how harshly I had spoken.
While I lay in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,
While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the family you love you seem to abuse
Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find flowers there by the door
Those flowers he brought for you
He picked then himself: pink, yellow, and blue
He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
You never saw the tears that filled his little eyes.
By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall
I quietly went and knelt my his bed,
"Wake up, little one," I said
"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"
He smiled, "I found'em out by the tree."
"I picked'em because they're pretty like you
I knew you'd like'em, especially the blue."
I said, "son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today,
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way."
He said, "Mom, that's okay,
I love you anyway."
I said, "Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."
FAMILY
Are we aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days.
But the family we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.
And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into our work than our family,
an unwise investment indeed,
don't you think?
So what's behind the story?
Do you know what the word FAMILY means??
FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER(I)(L)OVE(Y)OU
This really made me think, That sometimes we put all our might in other insignificant things, and we should really be putting our time into our family.
I am not a perfect parent, I never will be, But I must put all my trust in God and my family to ensure we lead a life with God by our side and that he leads our every thought and our every decision and that we are always there for each other. Without family, we have nothing. God blesses us with family, and in turn, we should be a blessing to God for allowing us to have a family. We should love as the Father loves us, and be the example that God wants us to be, this is what my children should learn from their mother and father. That God is the reason we are a family.
